For the fifth consecutive year the folks at Furry Weekend Atlanta brought me down to entertain the animals that flock there every year. Sadly, this year I was alone onstage… but I was hardly alone in the main ballroom. With one of the most responsive, enthusiastic crowds I’ve ever seen, I was able to party with several hundred people on a Friday night.

Unfortunately I screwed up the recording process, so all I had to work with was the board mix from the back of the room. I cleaned this one up the best I could, though, and hopefully it’ll bring back some memories for some of you!

The great feast of a thousand rolls has returned. This year the crowd was particularly rowdy- and God knows I love that. We put the UStream chat up on the big screen and let the flesh-based audience interact with the digital audience… something I’m not sure was such a good idea. But hey, it made for an interesting show!

No fish were harmed in the making of this concert. We harmed the hell out of them for a few hours beforehand, that’s all.

Sure, I’ve played Furry Weekend Atlanta four years in a row now, but this time I brought a little something extra with me: a drummer. Not just any drummer, a guy named Runtt who kicks a whole lot of ass. This was our debut show together in front of about 400 fans. To say the least we had fun!

This is also the first time since 2005 that I’ve had to mix live drums, so please let me know what you think. One of these days I’ll have enough subscribers to pay a real engineer to do this stuff for me, but in the mean time you get the best mix I can offer. I hope you like it!

Thanks to Brett, Jake, and all the others who pooled their resources and flew me down to Atlanta, I’ve actually got a real live concert recording this month. The only drawback? I had the plague. Matthew was named one of the Guests of Honor at this year’s FWA convention. While he was there he put on a full-length show, debuting some new live material to the Atlanta crowd. It was also his first live performance with sequenced backup tracks (he calls it his robot band).
