A couple years back my parents took me to God’s holy Eden, known to us mortals as the island of Kaua’i in Hawai’i. For any of you morons suffering from “Post-Avatar Depression“, this is why the movie had no effect on me. There really are places that beautiful on this planet, so get out of your living room and go find them already. Sheesh.

Anyway, being a bird nut I was particularly taken with the local feathery wildlife… mainly the chickens. Yep, chickens. Kaua’i has chickens the way the rest of us have squirrels or robins. Chickens in the street, chickens on rooftops, and yes, chickens on the beaches. It was only a matter of time before I wrote this song.
