It’s definitely a year of firsts. Previously I released my first concert recording from California, this month it’s my first concert from Illinois. Chicago-area, in fact! I tried out a few new technological tricks, for better or worse, and when the dust settled I still managed to salvage a decent recording. I just hope the fact that the B flat key died after the first song wasn’t my fault…

In the early part of April I was flown out to the Buckeye State for back-to-back house concerts. I recorded both the Marple house concert and the Parker house concert, but this one just turned out better (read: my voice sounded a lot better on the second night). Even though there were a lot of technical difficulties with the recording (like forgetting to turn on the crowd recorded, for one), I think it really captured the vibe of the two Ohio concerts very well.

Many, many thanks to the Parkers for flying me out to their part of the world and the Marples for loaning me a keyboard and a place to sleep both nights. As I’m fond of saying, I have the best fans ever invented!
