• What happened to the old matthewebel.net site?
The old matthewebel.net was founded by a fan with the intent of making a fan-based community to support Matthew Ebel. However, the fans are already in touch on Facebook, Twitter, MatthewEbel.com, and elsewhere.
  • How is this different from Virtual Hot Wings?
VHW will still be updated and improved upon as the fans have time and opportunity, but matthewebel.net is the source for official concert recordings, new music, and exclusive extras.

VHW is a project started and maintained by some Matthew Ebel fans. The idea was to create an unofficial bootleg program that would still benefit the artist. In contrast, Matthewebel.net is an official Matthew Ebel Entertainment product, just like all of the Matthew Ebel albums that got you interested in this site to begin with.

  • What kind of music will I get?
Matthew Ebel’s music. That’s about as specific as it gets. Subscribing to matthewebel.net gives you the unfiltered, unclassified stream of music straight from Matthew’s studio. If Matthew writes an Irish jig or a hard rock tune that simply won’t fit in on an album, you’ll get it through your subscription. All that’s certain is the music will keep coming, month after month.
  • But what does Matthew Ebel music sound like?
Boy, are you on the wrong site. If you’re brand new to Matthew’s music, you should probably start with MatthewEbel.com. You can listen to samples on his Music Page, buy tracks from iTunes, or even get 3 free songs by joining his mailing list.
  • What if I don’t like a particular concert/song/album?
Just wait for the next one to come out! As with any magazine, TV show, book series, etc., you’re not going to fall in love with every single episode/issue. Even Star Trek: The Next Generation had its lame periods, but the awesome just kept coming. If you’re wondering ’cause you’d like a refund, sorry… there are none.
  • How Do I Get My Downloads?
All of that should be covered on the About Page. If you still have questions, feel free to Contact MatthewEbel.net.
  • You guys screwed up the feed. Again. How do I get iTunes to re-download the right file as a podcast?
Dude, we’re totally sorry. We’re still getting the hang of this! Here’s what we heard from one gracious VIP Member:

If iTunes downloads the wrong file [because we put the wrong enclosure in the feed], you can force iTunes to re-download a podcast episode this way:

    1. Delete the offending podcast episode (the wrong file that you downloaded).
    2. In iTunes’ Podcast list, close the little triangle next to the podcast title (they call it a “turnbuckle”).
    3. Mac users hold down the option key, Windows users hold down control and shift.
    4. Re-open the triangle. You should now see the complete list of available downloads for the feed.
    5. Click “get” next to the file you want to re-download.

  • What happened to the old downloads?
All monthly downloads are removed two months after they’re posted. This is to prevent new subscribers from simply downloading months and months of goodies that they didn’t pay for. If you’re a programmer and you think you can write a plugin to make this system a bit more graceful, please Contact MatthewEbel.net
  • What if I lose/delete something that’s no longer available for download?
This is why you should always backup your data! Seriously, on a case-by-case basis, we’ll try to make sure you get what you’ve paid for. Just Contact MatthewEbel.net and let us know if there’s a problem.
  • What do you mean by “exclusive” tracks?
The new tunes released as Studio Tracks here on matthewebel.net will not be available through any other channel for at least one calendar year. After a year, Matthew may create a “best of” album or re-work some of the songs for other uses.
  • What about podcasting?
As with all Matthew Ebel music, some of it will be made available for podcasters even before a year has passed. Music downloaded or purchased from Matthew Ebel dot net is not considered podsafe by default. If there’s a tune you’d like to spin on your podcast, you can always Contact MatthewEbel.net and ask!
  • I’m an affiliate. When do I get paid?
Assuming anyone has used your links to buy a membership, you’ll get paid via PayPal two months after the purchase is made. We have to wait two months to avoid PayPal chargebacks and prevent fraud. You can always track your stats and balance, though, from the Backstage area.
  • My Question Isn’t On This List.
That’s because it hasn’t been asked that frequently. Feel free to Contact MatthewEbel.net and ask anyway… you might just get your question posted here so others can find the answer!
