Attention Getting Device

The phrase “attention getting device” is a term I’ve heard many, many times over the years. Mostly in parent/teacher conferences while growing up. My #1 attention getting device was always noisemaking, be it beat-boxing or otherwise. What it all boils down to, of course, is “look at me”.

Mmmm, delicious instrumentals. Or, er, semi-instrumental? … Non-lyrical? Anyway, this is awesome. It’s not the most interesting song in the world. It doesn’t really have a melody, you can’t sing along to it, but I’ve already listened to it seven or eight times since it was released, just some hour ago.
It’s the kind of song I could see myself getting tired of NOT hearing if it ends up last on my playlist, and putting on repeat while drawing or something. Like most of your instrumentals, actually. Except this one also conjures up lovely images of people trying to show off how awesome they think they are, which is exactly what I would be doing while drawing a picture, anyway! I don’t know why I’m still typing. All I wanted to say is, this song is awesome.
Although… Having this being played over some kind of performance would rule. Like a square dance routine, or a juggling act or something. Not only does this kind of music fit, it’d be hilariously ironic.
Matthew,
When the individual parts are released, I am totally going to remix this one with Borderlands. Some how, I just see this fitting so well with Borderlands the game. (Maybe its because of the ending credits?) I just think it’s going to be a lot of fun! I’m not very good at remixing and music making, (`n.n) still it’ll be fun.
Can’t wait for your next song!
P.S. I won’t be able to make the Beer Bash this year if it’s in June… (`T.T) However, I’m hoping I get moved to a State-Side base next year. In which case, it’ll be a helluva lot cheaper to go anytime during the year!
Y’know, I’ve seen various tweets about you considering dropping the two songs a month thing, and releasing two live recordings a month, or something. It got me thinking, sure that’s probably a good idea, as it means that it’ll give you more time to refine the one song. However, it’s the songs like this that make me glad you’re still managing to pull out the two songs. Sure it was on a short deadline, but its fun, its energetic, and its really unique too!
