Junk Mail

We all get a lot of crap in our mailboxes. Catalogs, magazines, advertisements… it’s a pile of lumber that typically just goes straight for the recycling bin or fire pit. This month, Matthew has decided to take his into the studio.

This song was created using only:

  • A catalog
  • A rubber band
  • Newspaper
  • Junk Mail
  • Matthew’s car keys
  • One finger
  • Two lips

You can make your own video using footage from the studio! Aside from the 30-second sample on YouTube, you can create your own testament to the crap that fills your inbox using high-quality video clips from the song’s creation.

Or, if you’re just curious, watch as Matthew tries to make music using some of the strangest materials he’s ever worked with.

This is…different…but I *like* it. Catchy even!

I do believe I’ve listened to this around 20 times already. I made a “song” like this too, years ago, using only sounds I recorded with a camera mic! It had no melody, so… yeah, it was a “song”. I always love your instrumental stuff, though, it makes for amazing background/working/meditation music. Even this one! AND it has a distinguishable message!

Great idea, nice song. Especially watching the raw videos was fun. You’re the best car key dancer around, for sure ;-)
